The 114.BiblioCon aims to provide a respectful and inclusive conference experience for all participants, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, age, ethnicity, nationality, ancestry, marital status, religion or lack thereof. We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form. Sexual or otherwise inappropriate language and images are not appropriate at any conference, including during presentations. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>

All conference participants, exhibitors and volunteers are required to agree to the following code of conduct. We will enforce this code throughout the conference and expect everyone to cooperate in order to ensure a safe environment. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>

Conference participants who fail to comply with these rules may face disciplinary action or be excluded from the conference.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Expected Conduct<\/span><\/b> <\/span><\/p>

  • As a speaker, presenter, participant or exhibitor, we expect you to be considerate and respectful towards all participants.<\/span> <\/span><\/li><\/ul>
    • Unless otherwise stated, name badges displaying the wearer\u2019s name must be worn at all times within the conference venue. All events (including library tours and the BiblioCon party) are reserved exclusively for registered participants. Unregistered persons are not permitted access to any of the event areas. Exceptions to this rule are infants and young children of registered participants, who may enter the conference venue under the sole responsibility and constant supervision of a registered parent and\/or a designated registered carer. <\/span> <\/span><\/li><\/ul>
      • Mobile phones, tablets, computers and other electronic devices must be set to silent mode during all presentations.<\/span> <\/span><\/li><\/ul>
        • Smoking is prohibited throughout the conference centre. Smoking is permitted in outdoor areas in accordance with the venue\u2019s specific guidelines. <\/span> <\/span><\/li><\/ul>
          • If alcoholic drinks are served at BiblioCon, participants are expected to consume them responsibly. Anyone who is visibly under the influence of alcohol or other legal or illegal substances will be escorted from the venue and will not be permitted to re-enter. <\/span> <\/span><\/li><\/ul>
            • Participants should show cultural sensitivity and respect towards all conference attendees, including with regard to their clothing and appearance.<\/span> <\/span><\/li><\/ul>

              <\/span><\/p>

              Unacceptable behaviour <\/span><\/b> <\/span><\/p>

              Unacceptable behaviour by conference participants will not be tolerated. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>

              For the purposes of these guidelines, harassment refers to inappropriate or unwelcome behaviour that could be perceived as offensive or humiliating to another participant or exhibitor. Harassment may include any form of verbal, non-verbal or physical behaviour, including written and electronic communication. Harassment in any form will not be tolerated. <\/span><\/p>

              Unacceptable behaviour includes, but is not limited to:<\/span><\/p>

              • Loud shouting, or intimidating, harassing, offensive or humiliating remarks, whether spoken or written<\/span> <\/span><\/li>
              • Sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic or otherwise discriminatory remarks and language \u2013 whether spoken, written or expressed through gestures<\/span> <\/span><\/li><\/ul>
                • Personal insults, particularly those relating to gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, age, ethnicity, nationality, religion or lack thereof.<\/span> <\/span><\/li><\/ul>
                  • Any form of bullying or abuse of power through coercion, manipulation, etc.<\/span> <\/span><\/li><\/ul>
                    • Deliberate disruption of poster presentations, lectures, meetings, hired venues or side events. <\/span> <\/span><\/li><\/ul>
                      • Inappropriate physical contact, unwanted advances, deliberate intimidation, stalking or harassment.<\/span> <\/span><\/li><\/ul>
                        • The taking or unauthorised sharing of photographs or unwanted recordings in any format, whether electronic or otherwise<\/span> <\/span><\/li><\/ul>
                          • Photographing or filming individual conference participants and\/or staff members without their prior explicit consent<\/span><\/li><\/ul>

                            <\/p>

                            Notification<\/span><\/b> <\/span><\/p>

                            In the event of a breach of the Code of Conduct, those involved or any witnesses are asked to report it in the following manner:<\/span> <\/span><\/p>

                                Any information that helps to identify the perpetrator and describe the incident will assist in clarifying the situation. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>

                                As soon as a report is received, the BiblioCon organiser will take action whilst ensuring the anonymity of the person concerned. Should any enforcement measure require this anonymity to be waived, this will only be done after obtaining the informed consent of the person concerned. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>

                                <\/span><\/p>

                                Consequences of unacceptable behaviour<\/b>

                                Upon receiving a report of unacceptable behaviour, the welfare of BiblioCon participants is our top priority. The on-site security and medical team may be called upon. <\/span><\/p>

                                In the event of a breach of this Code of Conduct, sanctions will be imposed in the form of a warning or a ban from the remainder of the conference. No retaliation against anyone who reports inappropriate behaviour will be tolerated. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>

                                In the event of serious misconduct, the BiblioCon organisers reserve the right to take any measures deemed necessary and appropriate, including immediate expulsion from the conference without warning or refund. The BiblioCon organisers also reserve the right to prohibit participation in future conferences. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>

                                <\/span><\/p>

                                Security<\/span><\/b> <\/span><\/p>

                                Bags, containers or suitcases must not be left unattended at any time in or around the venue. The Estrel provides a designated cloakroom for this purpose. BiblioCon also advises participants not to carry any unnecessary valuables with them. BiblioCon accepts no liability for lost or stolen items in or around the conference venue. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>

                                Socail Media<\/span><\/b> <\/span><\/p>

                                BiblioCon encourages open and respectful discussion on social media and blogging platforms. However, participants are asked not to publish any images or videos of individuals online without their consent. Participants are asked to respect any request from an author not to share the content of their talk or poster.
