Information from A - Z

The 114.BiblioCon will take place from 19 to 22 May 2026 at the ESTREL Berlin.
The event is organised by the Berufsverband Information Bibliothek e.V. (BIB) and the VDB – Verein Deutscher Bibliothekarinnen und Bibliothekare e.V.

The online registration form can be accessed via this page.

There will be a conference app. We will inform you as soon as the app is available in the app stores.

Since February 2025, the Estrel Berlin has been certified and listed on the “Travel for All” platform.

The Estrel Berlin is wheelchair accessible in all areas, including the Estrel Congress Center. The main entrance, accessible via a ramp from the hotel’s front, allows people with disabilities to enjoy a pleasant and independent stay. For those arriving by car, there are four designated disabled parking spaces in the hotel’s underground car park, providing short and barrier-free access to the building.

The hotel area, including restaurants, the Estrel Congress Center, and the Estrel Show Theater with the hotel’s own show “Stars in Concert,” are freely accessible via ramps, elevators (floor space 126 x 240 cm, operable with keypad), or threshold-free passageways.

All speakers are requested to submit their presentations to the speaker center at least two hours before the session. The presentations will then be loaded into the lecture rooms so that each speaker only needs to open the presentation on the computer in the lecture room. Personal computers or USB sticks may not be installed in the lecture rooms.
The speaker center is located in Foyer 4.

All participants who have registered by May 15 and paid the registration fee in full will receive a booking confirmation with a personal QR code by email in the week before the conference. Please be sure to bring this confirmation with you to BiblioCon so that you can print out your own name badge at the self-service printing stations in the registration area (in the rotunda) at the Estrel Berlin. All other participants will receive their documents at the registration desk.

The name badge should be worn in a clearly visible position at all times.

If the name tag is lost, a fee of €15 will be charged for a replacement name badge.

There is no ticket for the public transportation included.

Information on the public transportation in Berlin can be found on the BVG Seite.

You can use the Estrels parking garage to park your car. The costs are as follows: €4 for 2 hours, then €2 for each additional hour; €22 for 8 to 24 hours.

The poster exhibition will be located in the company exhibition area in Convention Hall II. During the lunch breaks on Wednesday and Thursday, the poster presenters will be available to explain their posters.

As librarians, we support free access to publications in a variety of ways. The two associations, VDB and BIB, therefore consider it their duty to take a leading role in the publication of the largest national training event. All publications in the conference proceedings of the journal o-bib are available in open access. The associations recommend that speakers also provide all other contributions to BiblioCon, in particular the presentations on the BIB-OPUS server as well as the posters and clips, with the open Creative Commons license CC BY (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/deed.de). To this end, a CC license notice should be included on the presentation slides and posters or in the clips. This recommendation applies to all publications on the BIB-OPUS server, even beyond BiblioCon.

The registration desk and self-printing stations will be located in the Estrel rotunda. You can reach them from the main entrance of the Estrel by turning left through the hotel foyer.

The official conference language is German, but some of the presentations will be held in English as part of BiblioCon’s increased international focus. These are marked accordingly in the online session planner.
